Bramshaw Golf Club

Junior Golf at Bramshaw

Bramshaw Golf Club has much to offer the Junior Golfer. With two very different courses and long game/short game practice facilities and a very active, dedicated Junior Committee/Section, we believe we are among the best Golf Clubs in the area for the young golfer. For details of the courses please visit the ‘Our Courses’ page of the Website for comprehensive details.

We have held the National Accreditations Golfmark & ClubMark since 2009 , which acknowledges the set-up and running of the Junior Section. The EGU  & EWGA have reviewed our programme of coaching, competitions and social events and this, together with the rigorous procedures for safeguarding our young golfers, has resulted in the Club becoming the first golf club in Hampshire to attain ‘High Achiever’ Golfmark status .

Details of the Golfmark National Accreditation can be viewed via the link www.golfmark.org. Our progress in developing the Junior Academy, our expansive programme of activities for the inexperienced and experienced young golfers, together with our family friendly policies and drive to improve has resulted in Bramshaw being awarded the coveted 'Golfmark Club of the Year 2011' by England Golf in February 2011.

For the young 'junior' golfer at Bramshaw we offer a wide range of activities for young boys & girls from the age of 4 up until the age of 18 years old:

  1. Junior Academy for boys & girls from the age of 4 (non-Members welcome) - more info .
  2. Short-course Programme for young golfers (Members) as they progress from the Academy. Participants in the monthly competitions are awarded points leading to a Younger Junior Order of Merit Award.
  3. Comprehensive programme of internal competitions, with many Honours Board competitions where leading placed juniors are awarded points, resulting in a Junior Order of Merit Award annually.
  4. Inter-club matches (friendlies).
  5. Representative matches (League & Knock-out Competitions).
  6. Coaching Charter/Junior Development Plan.
  7. Social Events.

We are also a recognised Golf Roots Centre which means that we are acknowledged for our work with local schools. We offer Tri-golf sessions for the Primary/Junior schoolchildren and Golf Extreme sessions for the Secondary schoolchildren. Both are an ideal way of introducing young children to golf in a safe and fun environment.

If you are a parent of a young child who may or may not be a golfer yet, one of the key concerns you may have would be how we manage our juniors in respect of Health, Safety and Welfare - and quite rightly so!

The following documents provide detailed information on our Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedures that we adopt at the Club:

Safeguarding Children Policy - Click here .

Safeguarding Children Procedures - Click here .

In addition, all personnel who work with our juniors are requested to read, sign and comply with a Code of Conduct (Adults) - For information please click here.

Finally, we expect our juniors (& parents/guardians) to comply with our Junior Code of Conduct (For information please click here) when playing golf at Bramshaw or merely on the Golf Club Premises. Please note that this also applies to other Golf Clubs as all of our Junior Members are 'ambassadors' for Bramshaw, when they play at other Clubs.
