Bramshaw Golf Club

Junior Golf at Bramshaw

Bramshaw Golf Club has much to offer the Junior Golfer. With two very different courses and long game/short game practice facilities and a very active, dedicated Junior Committee/Section, we believe we are among the best Golf Clubs in the area for the young golfer. For details of the courses please visit the ‘Our Courses’ page of the Website for comprehensive details.

In December 2009 Bramshaw Golf Club obtained the National Accreditations, Golfmark & ClubMark which acknowledge the set-up and running of the Junior Section. The EGU  & EWGA have reviewed Bramshaw Golf Club’s submission, the programme of coaching, competitions and social events and this together with the rigorous procedures for safeguarding our young golfers has resulted in the Club becoming the first golf club in Hampshire to attain ‘High Achiever’ Golfmark status. Details of the Golfmark National Accreditation can be viewed via the link www.golfmark.org. Our progress in developing the Junior Academy, expansive programme of activities for the inexperienced and experienced young golfers, together with our family friendly policies and drive to improve has resulted in Bramshaw being awarded the coveted 'Golfmark Club of the Year 2011' by the EGU/EWGA in February 2011.

For the young 'junior' golfer at Bramshaw we offer a wide range of activities for young boys & girls from the age of 4 up until the age of 18 years old:

  1. Junior Academy for boys & girls from the age of 4 (non-Members welcome) - more info.
  2. Short-course Programme for young golfers (Members) as they progress from the Academy. Participants in the monthly competitions are awarded points leading to a Younger Junior Order of Merit Award.
  3. Comprehensive programme of internal competitions, with many Honours Board competitions where leading placed juniors are awarded points, resulting in a Junior Order of Merit Award annually.
  4. Inter-club matches (friendlies).
  5. Representative matches (League & Knock-out Competitions).
  6. Coaching Charter/Junior Development Plan.
  7. Social Events.

We are also a recognised Grass Roots Centre which means that we are acknowledged for our work with local schools. We offer Tri-golf sessions for the Primary/Junior schoolchildren and Golf Extreme sessions for the Secondary schoolchildren. Both are an ideal way of introducing young children to golf in a safe and fun environment.
