Our PGA Golf Professionals offer group and individual coaching sessions and will happily prepare a development plan tailored to your needs/the needs of your child. We pride ourselves on being a beginner and Junior friendly golf club.
At the Bramshaw Academy we are committed to junior coaching using the Junior Golf Passport programme. Our PGA professional, Clive Bonner, and member of the Ladies European tour, Emma, hold coaching sessions on Saturday's for all levels and ages of juniors who wish to learn to play golf. We also hold free taster sessions throughout the year and visit local schools to deliver coaching programmes using Tri-Golf equipment (for children at Primary & Junior Schools) and Golf Extreme equipment (for children at Secondary schools)..
The coaching programme at Bramshaw's Academy ensures that every aspect of the game is covered from swing, short game through to on-course R&A Rules and etiquette, all in a safe, fun and friendly environment. We also hold on-course fun days to enable children to take their new found skills on the course. Each session is run for an hour and consists of basic tuition, followed by individual help and rounded off with some games to put in to practice the new skills. To ensure that each participant receives quality time and tuition from our coaches the participant/coach ratio will not exceed 6:1.
All equipment is supplied and each session is just £4 per Junior Member or £5 per non-Member.
As juniors progress to playing 18 holes and acquiring handicaps we encourage our older Juniors to buddy up with a younger child to help them round the course. We are also stockists of U.S Kids golf clubs and equipment which is very well designed to ensure that each child can be fitted to a club that is going to suit their age, height and ability.
In 2010 Bramshaw have introduced the National Skills Challenge which involves a programme of practice drills on all aspects of the game which encourage continuous improvement and rewards the young golfer for his or her efforts. Assessments of improvement are made for the ‘Rookie’ (5-12 yr olds) and Tour (13-17 yr olds) youngsters on two separate occasions during the year. The top performers from the UK go forward to Regional/National Finals. For full details of the Challenge visit www.getintogolf.org
Following the completion of the Autumn Coaching programme Clive and Emma, our PGA Professionals, have compiled a programme of Junior lessons for the Summer of 2011. This will follow the Junior Passport Scheme guidelines and will include tuition on all aspects of the game; woods, irons, chipping, bunkers, putting, rules & etiquette, plus an on-course sessions, playing a few holes and learning course management concepts as well. To ensure that each participant receives quality time and tuition from our coaches, the participant/coach ration will not exceed 6:1.
The programme has been compiled so that the young golfer can enrol for a group of six lessons covering each aspect of the game or an individual can turn up for a specific lesson if they wish to. The charge is £4 per Junior Member or £5 per non-Member for each 1-hour session.
